Bombina toad, water beetle, salamander larva
This looks like nature's version of the rock, paper scissors game. Replace the actions with salamander larva, Dytiscus water beetle, and yellow-bellied toad (Bombina variegata). It was Bombina that originally brought me to Croatia in 1992.
