Bee on sunflower, Risnjak
Wild sunflowers (Helianthus annuus) were growing wild amongst giant butterbur in this part of Risnjak National Park. As well as adding a splash of yellow colour amongst the lush green surrounds, they provide valuable nectar and pollen to foraging honey bees.
