The Scottish Parliament Building has had plenty of criticism, and so have the 'gardens' which are sculpted to be semi-wild. However, the wildflowers of the gardens are bustling with pollinators in the spring and summer - including this hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus) on a pink flower - and I think it is fantastic that the seat of our nation also encourages biodiversity right on its doorstep.
