Winter Wonderland
Snow curves
A curvaceous natural snow sculpture. The contrasting cool and warm winter light highlighted by the contours of the interlocking spurs of snow. For me, the hook of this image is that there is no impression of the scale of the environment. Are we looking from afar into a vast snow-clad canyon, or are we peering into the micro-world around a trickle of a stream? This image was a runner-up in the Chasing the Light "Winter Wonderland" Photographic Competition 2012.
