There is something primeval about this rugged, spectacular area of the Isle of Skye. The natural pinnacle of rock that forms the Old Man of Storr represents the centrepiece of the Quiraing. The name Quiraing is likely derived from Cuith Raing (Gaelic), which translates as the pillared enclosure [the pillar is likely the stack that is the Old Man of Storr].
