Yawning bonnet macaque
Bonnet macaque (Macaca radiata) photographed by the Lakkidi Highway Viewpoint. The monkeys were well-behaved and disinterested in humans but in some areas they are considered a menace and carry the tick-transmitted Kysanur Forest Disease (KFD). Yawning in monkeys can be a threat display rather than a sign of tiredness.
