Fantastic location, looking out across Loch Sunart to the Isle of Mull with the imposing extinct volcano, Ben Hiant, dominating the view. This view is from Ardslignish headland, gazing down into Camas nan Geall (the Bay of Strangers). The Bay is the site of an ancient burial ground, Cladh Chiarian, where St Ciaran mac an t-Saeir (died in the year 0549) is reputed to be buried. This is likely the origin for the naming of Ben Hiant, derived from Beinn Shianta which means Holy Mountain.
