Black and white image of Aardwolf (translates as 'earth wolf' from Afrikaans, Proteles cristata) captured by remote camera trap. I was very excited to get this shot of a rarely seen nocturnal and solitary member of the hyaena family (Hyaenidae). It differs from the other hyaenids in that it is an insectivore with diet almost exclusively limited to eating harvester termites. Night image.
