Springbok, Antidorcas marsupialis, at night, camera trap

Springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis) captured by remote camera trap at night. Before the age of guns and fences, in the 1700s, the springbok were said to migrate in herds legendary in number, and so historically they were also known as trekbok, trekbokke. They are a beautiful small antelope and seeing springbok pronk (or stott or prong - a display of fitness to deter predation) is a wonderful sight.
